Overview
Stephanie is the Co-Deputy Director of the PG Dip Dialectical Behahviour Therapy (DBT) at Bangor University, working mostly with Supervisors. Stephanie studied at Keele University (1987-1991), qualified as a Social Worker and has worked for Local Authorities Children and Family Services, the NSPCC (Sexual Abuse project) before moving to work in Health Services in North Wales in 2003.
Stephanie trained in DBT whilst working in CAMHS and went on to be a research therapist in a large RCT of DBT for Treatment Resistant Depression before undertaking her PhD on adapting DBT skills for autistic adolescents for delivery in school settings completed in 2021.
Now working as a Consultant Psychological Therapist in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Stephanie has a regional role delivering training and supervision in CBT and DBT and supporting the development and implementation of these approaches in the NHS. Stephanie is part of the BCUHB Psychological Therapies training team, hosted by BU delivering CBT training and contributing to the PG Dip CBT. She is an accredited practitioner and supervisor with the BABCP and SfDBT.
