Mr Stuart Sopp
Overview
I am an Environmental Science PhD student at the University of Bangor. I have a background in Physical Geography, with experience in the applications of remote sensing. My PhD is funded by NERC through the Envision dtp, with the aim of my project being to extend global LiDAR based forest carbon models to bioregions other than the tropics.
Research
The aim of my PhD project is to extend global LiDAR based forest carbon models to bioregions outside of the tropics. My Current research within this wider aim focuses on the height-diamter modelling of trees, and why the current theory of metabolic scaling fails to adequately model large trees.
