Overview
Professor Val Morrison is a chartered psychologist and Professor in Health Psychology with an Honorary Research Lecturer contract at the University Medical Centrum Groningen, The Netherlands. Her research examines the individual, relational and social variables that predict emotional, functional and social outcomes in those with chronic physical illness or providing informal care in that context. Her research informs psychosocial intervention and evidence-based healthcare practice as seen in her collaborative work with NHS and healthcare academic colleagues in primary and secondary care and in therapies. Her teaching is underpinned by this expertise, with taught content addressing stress and coping, and the psychology of illness and disability. Bringing this together she also coauthors a leading European health psychology textbook, currently in its 5th edition, see 'Links'
