Overview

Dr. Zahid is a financial economist and econometrician with an outstanding academic background, holding MSc and PhD degrees in Economics from the London School of Economics and the University of Birmingham, UK. Prior to his tenure at Bangor University, he served in various academic roles, including Lecturer in Economics, Statistics, and Econometrics at the University of Sheffield, Lecturer in Econometrics and Finance at the University of Abertay, Teaching Assistant at the University of Birmingham, and Assistant Professor in Economics and Finance at universities in the Middle East.

Dr. Zahid has a strong teaching portfolio, having delivered a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Managerial Economics, Statistics, Financial Econometrics, and Advanced Investment Theory and Practices. He is known for tailoring his teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of his students and has also designed and coordinated several modules within his areas of expertise. His commitment to student learning is further evidenced by his supervision of undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students.

An accomplished researcher, Dr. Zahid specializes in monetary policy and the portfolio behavior of commercial banks. He has published extensively in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals and continues to work on impactful research projects. Despite a demanding teaching workload, he excels in disseminating his findings to broader academic and professional audiences, reflecting his dedication to advancing knowledge in his field.
