N2 - This paper provides a brief overview of the role of art therapy in brain injury rehabilitation, before exploring in greater depth the potential for photography to augment psychotherapeutic work in these settings. Three case vignettes are presented to illustrate some of the psychological themes where photography can potentially facilitate psychotherapeutic processes. These themes, which are reasonably frequently encountered during longer-term psychotherapeutic and other rehabilitation interventions for people with brain injury, broadly encompass self-awareness, grief, and post-injury meaning.
