A test for successive incentive contrast effects with a highly preferred fluid reward

40 female albino rats were tested in a successive incentive effects experiment with water and "near beer" as fluid rewards. Contrary to earlier findings by the present authors (in press), Ss' running speeds did not indicate a preference for near beer over water. (6 ref)
