Almost 50,000 more deaths occur during the coldest months of the year compared to the rest of the year. There is a real need to improve housing in the UK. Avoidable illnesses, such as respiratory disease, can be exacerbated by cold and damp homes. This briefing will present and explain the main findings from the Warms Homes for Health project, with a scientific peer reviewed journal article to follow.
