Description
A team of independent researchers who were undertaking a project to learn more about families’ stories, thoughts and experiences about the changes to consenting to organ donation in Wales.
The changes introduced a new way of consenting to organ donation in Wales. ‘Family members, close friends and appointed representatives are most affected by the changes because their role in the decision making is different now. Wales was the first place in the UK to introduce the changes.
The project was about understanding more about the views and experiences of families in helping others to make choices, understand the concerns and provide good care.
This project is part of the Wales Kidney Research Unit and supports the development of an all-Wales program of integrated health and social care research.
