N2 - This interactive on-line website represents the first ever electronic bilingual Welsh-Irish language resource, providing the tools for direct communication between speakers of two Celtic minority languages without the intermediary of a third language. The resource provides information about the grammar and lexicon of Welsh for Irish speakers and about Irish for Welsh speakers, and the user can listen to recorded utterances relating to various topics of conversation. The sound files are original recordings of three Irish and two Welsh dialects. The topics and format are based on research on the presentation of Welsh and Irish as attractive, living languages in an electronic medium. The grammar sections include original descriptions of Welsh and Irish where comparisons are made to similar features in the other language.
