N2 - In November 2014, Bangor University was commissioned to undertake aresearch study on behalf of the Welsh Government. The purpose of thestudy was to add to our understanding of how the Welsh language is used incommunities, and to assess whether the types of programmes funded by theWelsh Government to promote Welsh language use are meeting the needsof communities. The findings of the study will contribute towards shaping thelanguage planning policy of the future.
