As higher education practitioners, we are often justifiably consumed with the question of how we can better support student learning and attainment. Drawing on my latest article published in Teaching in Higher Education, in this blog post, I argue that just as it is our role to create an environment in which students can learn, we should also try to provide one in which students can support each other’s learning collaboratively. This can, in turn, help to distribute the burden placed on us as increasingly overworked educators and provide perhaps much more emotional and academic support than most of us, given the resource constraints we face, are capable of providing.
