Application for an excavation permit according to § 11 (1) Austrian Monuments Protection Law for metal detector, magnetometer and ground penetrating radar surveys and an archaeological excavation (2018)
To establish whether the Austrian National Heritage Agency (BDA) correctly applies the law, an excavation permit according to § 11 (1) DMSG was applied for in January 2018 for surveys and excavations in my parents' garden in Vienna. The permit issued by the BDA is being challenged before the Austrian Federal Administrative Court of Appeals (BVwG), to determine whether the planned activities require a permit by the BDA.
The attached materials contain all relevant documents related to this case.
